About La Cima

Mission

The mission of La Cima Elementary is to prepare students for academic and life-long success through a rigorous and relevant academic program.

Vision

Our vision is to develop scholars who have the intellectual capacity, the emotional strength of character and the social capital to be individually successful, and to act as effective change-makers in their communities.

Students

La Cima currently serves 320 students in grades K, 1, 2, 3, and 4 in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn.  We will continue adding a grade until we are a K-5 school in the 2012-2013 school year.  The school opened its doors for the first time in 2008 to 140 kindergarten and first grade students.

Location

La Cima is co-located with MS 267 and Bedford-Stuyvesant Collegiate Charter School.  We are at 800 Gates Avenue, 3rd floor (at the corner of Stuyvesant).  Our school is easily accessible off of the J train at Gates, A train to Utica, the B52 bus at Gates/Stuyvesant or the B46 bus to Malcolm X and Gates.

About Charter Schools

Charter schools are free public schools.  We do not screen or select our students.  Every student eligible for public school in NYC is eligible for a seat at La Cima.  For more information, please go to Enrollment Information. The school provides a geographic priority in the lottery to students who live in Community School District (CSD) #16. To find your CSD, please call 311.
