The first day of school for all scholars is Monday, August 22nd.
K-2 Scholars will have a half day with dismissal at 12:00 pm (Monday, August 22nd & Tuesday, August 23rd).
3-5 Grade scholars will have a full day with dismissal at 3:45 pm.
All scholars should enter on Monroe Ave. through the doors under the blue awning that says ‘La Cima Charter School.’ The doors will be open from 7:30 am – 8:00 am. After 8:00 am, scholars should enter through the main entrance on Gates Ave.
Families should arrive at the entrance on Stuyvesant Ave. to pick scholars up from the auditorium.
School Year Dismissal Schedule:
Monday – Thursday: dismissal is at 3:45 pm for all scholars
Fridays: Dismissal is at 12:00 pm for all scholars (to allow for professional development for staff)
The Office of Pupil Transportation (OPT) releases the yearly ridership report of scholars eligible for bussing at the end of August to early September. If you would like to request bussing for your scholar, please complete the enclosed bussing form and return it with your scholar on the first day of school. Once the ridership report is released you will be contacted about bussing details/Metrocard eligibility.
Please note that bussing will NOT be available for the first two weeks of school.
Scholar uniforms must be purchased online at Flynnohara.com. Select ‘NY’ and enter ‘La Cima Charter School’ in the drop down menus on the landing page. You will then be directed to enter your child’s gender and grade and will be able to see the available uniform options.
Please note that the navy blue uniform pants and navy blue uniform sweater do not need to be purchased from Flynnohara.com but may be purchased at any store that sells these items (Cookies, Children’s Place, etc.)
Sneakers must be all black for all students.
For Kindergarten and First Grade students, please send your child with an extra pair of clothes (including underwear and socks) as backup items in the event your child has a bathroom accident. Please be sure to label your child’s clothing.
